My background…

Ed is a lawyer that represents some of the largest counties and cities in the US in environmental litigation. He’s recovered over $1.65 billion on behalf of his clients and was named California Lawyer - Attorney of the Year for his work on these historic cases.

As with any successful business, my story involves mentors, teammates, partners, co-founders, and great employees. I served as a Managing Partner of a national law firm and the COO of another mid-sized firm in San Diego. I founded my own firm, Diab Chambers LLP, almost ten years ago and have never looked back. Over the last 5 years, I’ve taken these experiences and my own personal capital and directed it towards great tech companies - mostly legaltech because of my background.

In high school, I started my first business coding webpages for companies during Web 1.0. I charged a few thousand bucks per website and partnered with a friend of mine that started a web hosting platform to serve these forward-thinking businesses. In college, I built computers and setup networks for small businesses for some extra cash. Somehow I ended up in law, but I feel fortunate to now have the opportunity to participate in the tech world through my investments and advisory roles.

My investment philosophy is fairly simple. I only invest in companies that check 3 boxes:

  • I fundamentally understand the tech. It solves a problem and creates instant value.

  • My skillset and network can help evangelize the product. This means I believe my platform can help get exposure and ultimately more clients.

  • The founder(s) are looking for someone to work alongside them. I participate in sales calls, pitches and in advisory board meetings to grow your company.
